Abstract:
      The Indian Telecommunication Industry has the 3rd largest telecom networks in the world on the basis of its client support and lowest tariffs enabled by the hyper-competition in its market. The Industry, comprising of major sectors like telephony, internet and propagation has undergone a main method of alteration through various stages. The paper highlights the various stages in the improvement of the telecommunication industry. Telecommunication has come to its current status during several milestones like Wireless communication, Mobile communication, Broadband communication, Next Generation Network and Satellites. To itemize the current status of the sector convinced presentation indicators, like the status of wire line and wireless subscribers, the trend of tele-density, the growth in internet and broadband connections, the rising focus on rural telephony and the increase in the telecom income have been explored.
