Abstract:

Present study work is based on weld penetration of A-TIG performed on stainless steel (UNS S30400). An attempt was made to develop Activated TIG welding for stainless steel of 10mm thickness by single-pass full penetration weld without edge preparation; Study includes the variation in weld penetration by using TiO2 Flux, Sio2 Flux, and without Flux at different parameters. The result is based on the Vickers hardness test, Tensile test, and Macroscopic tests.

Keywords:

Activated TIG welding, Titanium dioxide flux, Silicon dioxide flux, Stainless steel.
