Abstract

This paper presents an analytical study of a non-isolated Multi-Input Multi-Output (MIMO) DC-DC converter integrated with a Direct-Torque-Controlled, Space-Vector-Modulated (DTC-SVM) traction drive for Electric Vehicles (EVs). Three sources-a 40-V auxiliary battery, a 600-V traction battery, and an 80-V shared battery-simultaneously supply an 800-V traction bus and 24-V/12-V auxiliary buses through four switching modes (d1 = 0.10, d2 = 0.10, d3 = 0.30, d4 = 0.50) under exact volt-second balance. A topology-specific state-space, averaged, and power-flow model is derived from Kirchhoff’s laws; the boost inductor is sized for Continuous Conduction Mode (CCM) operation, and an explicit loss decomposition yields a 97.9% efficiency estimate. Lyapunov, eigenvalue, and boundedness analyses establish stability of the cascaded converter-machine system, and a PLECS framework with complete parameter tables evaluates the 250-kW Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine (IPMSM) drive, which is benchmarked against recent multiport converters in voltage gain, device count, THD, and efficiency.
