Abstract:

Determination of the strong interaction coupling constant, αs, in the wide value range using non - accelerator experimental results is presented for the first time. For this purpose we have measured the isotopic shift of zero phonon line in the low temperature photoluminescence spectra of LiH and LiD crystals which differ only strong interaction in deuterium nucleus. Observation of the isotopic shift phononless line in the photoluminescence spectra of the whole series of LiHxD1-xmixed crystals is permitted to construct changes αs in the wide value range. Moreover we have shown the influence of different number of neutrons in nuclei on the strong interaction coupling constant in different substances. Our results open a new avenue in the investigation of the hadron - lepton interaction via study the low temperature characteristics (reflection, photoluminescence) of solids.
