Abstract:

 Mobile phones are a great tool developed in the field of information technology. The fast access to information along with the ability to communicate globally is what makes it a boon to people. But in some areas like classrooms, examination halls, petrol pumps or in an aircraft it has become a menace. As a result it is necessary to implement strict measures and to follow the rules regarding the use of mobile phones in such areas. In this paper a system is proposed which can be used to detect mobile phone usage in mobilerestricted areas. The problem statement was formulated using Labview software and prototype was designed to detect the usage of mobile phones, give warning messages and report about the usage to the concerned authority.
