Abstract:

Innovation and career opportunities are the major highlights for the Indian healthcare industries success. Healthcare industry has played a significant role in placing India as a powerful healthcare provider and healthcare service sector in the global arena. Women employees are playing a significant role in the development of healthcare industry. In this regard Nurses and Doctors too play a vital role in the healthcare industry. So, it is essential to take care of their necessity and create a healthy atmosphere, women employee faces challenges and issues when it comes to opportunities related to salary, career development and maintaining work-life balance.
Balancing work-life is turning to be a biggest challenge to working mothers as they play dual role and responsibilities of managing workplace, taking care of child and other household tasks, it will be very difficult in maintaining balance between work and home, if there is no good support from both her superiors and family environment.
This Study focuses on employee’s work-life balance post maternity in healthcare industry. Data was collected from Employees (Doctors and Nurses) who are tenured between 2 to 3 years pre-and post-Maternity leave with in a same organization. Primary Data was collected through structured questionnaire, Snowball sampling method was adopted to identify the sample. A total of 138 respondents was taken from Multi Specialty Hospitals located in Bangalore. To understand the employee’s work-life balance post maternity, with demographic variables ANOVA was used. The research finding indicates that there is no significant difference in age, education, and number of years worked with the organization on employee’s work-life balance post maternity.
