Abstract:

There is a significant change in the global energy landscape due to concerns about climate change, technological progress, and the need for energy security. Microgrids that use renewable energy sources represent a shift in paradigm from centralized fossil fuel power generation to distributed, sustainable energy systems. This review examines the technology behind microgrids, their operational features, economic aspects, and future possibilities. The combination of falling renewable energy costs, improvements in energy storage, and advanced control systems makes microgrids a key part of future energy infrastructure. They provide resilience, sustainability, and accessibility for both developed and developing regions.

Keywords:
