Abstract:
A vortex wind turbine operates without blades, harvesting wind kinetic energy through oscillations, based on the fluid-structure interaction of Vortex-Induced Vibrations (VIV). This research evaluates a vortex wind turbine under resonance conditions using numerical techniques, including Finite Element Method (FEM) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). The effects of the vortex wake on structural displacements and the useful life of Vortex Wind Turbines (VWT) were analyzed. The results show that the turbine could operate under resonance conditions without risk of mechanical fatigue failure, providing continuous operation.
